locum Occupational Therapist
Our client is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join a multi-disciplinary team in one of Cairns Hospital’s district sites to provide back-fill for
- Conducting assessments and developing individualized treatment plans for patients in community, and hospital
- Delivering evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to promote recovery and independence.
- Collaborating with other allied health staff to ensure the best outcomes for patients .
- Work cooperatively and effectively, using well developed communication skills, with other service providers and with clients, carers and families, including those from indigenous and CALD backgrounds.
- Initial Assessments, Functional Assessments, Cognitive screening and assessment, Home Visit assessment for safe discharge planning, delegation of tasks to Allied Health Assistance, goal-setting, and participate in weekly Case Conferences with MDT and Geriatrician.
- Inpatient, outpatient clinic & community settings
The skills and experience I need for this job
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- The ability to meet QLD Health credentialing requirements.
- 2 years experience as an Occupational Therapist
