FAQs
Some questions you may like answered
We are professional recruitment consultants, with an extensive network of both candidates and clinics, hospitals and other care facilities. We make it our mission to get to know who we work with, so we can find the best fit for our candidates as well as for our clients. Some of our candidates become clients and vice versa, with many having been with us since we opened in 2008.
By gathering industry insights and identifying trends, we can capture opportunities before they even come to the market. Many of our candidates actively choose to work with us exclusively, which further builds on the detailed understanding of their needs which we have gained. By having a talented pool of Sonographers who we have got to know, our clients can be confident that we aren’t just passing on a resume, we are referring a person who we know beyond simply words on a page or a quick phone call.
International Medical Graduates (IMGs) whose medical qualifications are from a medical school outside of Australia or New Zealand, and who are seeking registration to practise medicine in Australia, must provide evidence of eligibility to undertake one of the following assessment pathways:
Competent Authority Pathway
This is for International Medical Graduates looking for general registration and have passed the AMC exam with the relevant practical component.
Standard Pathway
If you have not yet completed a recognised internship or appropriate period of supervised practice, this pathway may be relevant for you.
Specialist Recognition
This is for International Medical Graduates who hold a specialist qualification obtained outside Australia and are applying for recognition that their qualification is comparable.
Area of Need
If you are an International Medical Graduate applying for a specialist position in a designated area of need in Australia, this pathway could be relevant to you.
The assessment process assesses the knowledge and clinical skills of IMGs seeking to qualify for medical registration in Australia.
The pathway will be different for each individual IMG.
To decide which pathway is right for you, you can complete an initial self-assessment check with an overview of the pathways provided as a guide.
Most IMGs will only be able to undertake a period of supervised employment in an Area of Need or District of Workforce Shortage. Priority areas are usually in regional and the more remote locations which are home to some of Australia’s most breathtaking landscapes, plus financial incentives for working in more remote areas are often provided too.
