Location: Gove, East Arnhem, Northern Territory

Rate: $80 per hour, plus super

Contract Duration: From 9th September 2024 for 3 months

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Locum Pharmacist Clinician to join their team in Gove, East Arnhem, Northern Territory for a 3-month locum opportunity. This is a fantastic chance to work in a unique and rewarding environment, providing vital pharmacy services within a multidisciplinary team.

• Deliver high-quality, ward-based clinical pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients in line with departmental guidelines.
• Supervise technical staff as per the NT Medicines, Poisons, and Therapeutic Goods Act.
• Dispense medications and provide comprehensive counselling while maintaining accurate prescription records.
• Ensure culturally appropriate medication information and education is provided to clients and hospital staff.
• Monitor drug usage and implement relevant policies within the Top End Health Service.
• Actively engage in quality improvement initiatives and promote best practices in medication management.
• Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge through ongoing professional development, including memberships and relevant courses.

Essential Criteria:

• AHPRA Registration: Current registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
• Experience: At least one year of clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting or equivalent.
• Compliance: Must hold a Working with Children Card (NT) and a current National Criminal History Check.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and with diverse cultures.
• Problem Solving: Strong ability to think laterally and solve complex problems independently.
• Previous Hospital Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting.

Desirable Criteria:

• Cultural Competence: Experience working with Indigenous Australians and people of diverse cultures.
