Registered Nurse – Emergency Department | Remote Queensland

  • Location: Doomadgee Queensland
  • Contract: Starting January 2025 | 4–6 weeks with potential for extension
Are you an experienced Travel Nurse with strong Emergency Department skills? Our client is seeking skilled RNs to join their team during the wet season. This is a unique opportunity to bring your expertise to a remote community, delivering high-quality care in a challenging and rewarding environment.

 
About the Role:
 

As a Travel Nurse in Doomadgee, you will leverage your prior experience in remote settings to provide exceptional care to a diverse community. Working in a resource-limited environment, you’ll be an integral part of the team, offering advanced clinical care and contributing to community health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Emergency Care: Deliver high-level clinical care in the Emergency Department, managing acute and life-threatening conditions.
  • Critical Skills: Utilize your ALS and Triage training to provide rapid assessment and intervention.
  • Primary Healthcare: Deliver culturally sensitive care to patients of all ages, addressing a broad spectrum of health concerns.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a remote setting, managing care with limited resources and during the wet season when travel by car is restricted.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including Indigenous health workers, to provide holistic care.
  • Community Engagement: Promote health education and preventative care tailored to the needs of the local population.

What We’re Looking For

  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Proven Travel Nurse experience, ideally in remote or rural locations.
  • Strong Emergency Department skills, with ALS and Triage certification.
  • Resilience and adaptability to work in challenging and resource-limited settings.
  • A commitment to providing culturally safe and inclusive care.
