The role:
A two-week locum opportunity is available for an experienced general sonographer at Kingaroy Hospital. You will work independently within the medical imaging department, supported by the local team and remotely by sonographers and radiologists based at Toowoomba Hospital. The role offers a manageable workload of approximately 7–10 patients per day.

Distinctive Aspects of This Role:

• General ultrasound scope covering small parts, MSK, obstetrics and gynaecology, ED presentations, limited vascular including upper and lower limb DVT studies, and carotids.
• Canon i800 equipment with a light caseload of approximately 7–10 patients daily.
• Sole sonographer role with support available from the department and the Toowoomba Hospital sonography and radiology teams.
• No radiologist on site; suitable cases may be referred to the local private practice.
• Ward staff assist with manual handling when patients attend medical imaging.
• Large, fully self-contained onsite accommodation is provided.
• A car is required. Travel assistance may be negotiated, including kilometre reimbursement depending on your point of origin.

Kingaroy is the regional centre of Queensland’s South Burnett, approximately 210 km northwest of Brisbane and within easy driving distance of Toowoomba. Known for its welcoming country atmosphere, rolling farmland and relaxed lifestyle, the area offers local cafés, heritage attractions and scenic access to the nearby Bunya Mountains.

The Essentials for This Role:

• Current ASAR accreditation and demonstrated experience across the required general ultrasound scope.
• Confidence working as the sole sonographer while collaborating with onsite and remote clinical teams.
• Ability to complete Queensland Health credentialling requirements before commencement.
