The role:
This locum role at Katherine Hospital combines ultrasound and radiography in a highly autonomous regional setting. Working weekdays with on-call coverage as the sole on-site clinician, you will perform general, O&G, vascular, paediatric, MSK, small-parts and FAST ultrasound alongside radiography across inpatient, outpatient and ED presentations. You may also join remote TRIPS, travelling via an NT Health plane or private charter with ACCHO communities and accompanying a Medical, O&G or Allied Health team to deliver mobile X-ray and ultrasound services from local clinics. With no radiologist on site, this is an opportunity to practise at an advanced scope while experiencing Katherine’s distinctive outback lifestyle.

• Dual modality and advanced autonomy: Work as the sole on-site clinician across a broad ultrasound skill set and X-ray, operating at an advanced scope with no radiologist on site.
• Remote TRIPS: Travel via an NT Health plane or private charter with ACCHO communities, accompanying a Medical, O&G or Allied Health team and working from local clinics to complete mobile X-rays and ultrasound examinations.
• Variable and broad caseload: Patient numbers fluctuate from day to day, so there is no fixed modality breakdown. For dual-qualified clinicians, radiography may include a wide range of inpatient, outpatient and ED presentations; more serious or complex cases generally proceed to CT or are discussed with RDH as required.

• Current ASAR accreditation and AHPRA registration | NT Working with Children Check
• Dual-modality capability across radiography and ultrasound, including general, O&G, vascular, paediatric, MSK, small parts and FAST.
• Confidence working autonomously as the sole on-site clinician with no radiologist present.
• Flexibility for on-call and urgent cases across inpatient, ED, weekend and remote community outreach services.
• Strong adaptability and communication skills in remote, resource-limited settings.
