I Am Trained Overseas, How Do I Register As A Radiologist In Australia?

To work in Australia, you will need to apply with the Royal College of Radiology and travel to Australia to have an interview with them. You will then be asked to come back to sit written exams. Once you have passed the written exams, you can then gain FRANZCR registration. You can apply by visiting www.ranzcr.edu.au

As a Radiologist, you will be required to register with Medicare as a radiology practitioner in the state where you wish to practice. If you are looking for radiology locum work particularly, you will be required to practice in locations that are classed as AON (Area of need). Some of these locations are based in the larger cities meaning you won’t necessarily be restricted to rural locations, it will purely depend on where the skills shortages are and how long each hospital or practice has been trying to recruit.
