About our Client, your new employer:
Our client has established relationships with remote communities and has a strong On Country model of care.  They have established a base clinic in Cairns and see patients from the local community.  When I visited the clinic, it was team meeting day, where time is invested to discuss cases, provide in training (the task is alternated through the team) and generally catch up.  The team dynamic is supportive with a great energy and the culture within the company is genuinely admirable.  They have an exceptional reputation in the local area and the communities in which they work.  The vacancy that I am assisting with exists because of increasing demand from patients.

A little about the role:
You will work with the existing OT team and see a caseload within the clinic and also travel to remote communities, if you wish.  You will work across the lifespan.   2 options: You can be entirely based in the Cairns clinic or also travel to the communities.  The travel to community would be once or twice a month and 2-3 days in duration.  As mentioned, the remote work will be in first nations communities proving therapy using the On Country model of care.  You will continue the excellent service provided to the community.  The personal attributes you will need are: Be open minded, open to learning, be a team player and be resilient.
Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
  • AHPRA registration
  • National Police Check.
  • Ability to provide all credentialing documents as requested (including working with children check).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with a team as well as independently.

Benefits:

  • Join a team with a culture many clinics strive for, but few replicate
  • Choice of caseload to suite your preference
  • Exposure to working in remote first nations communities, with an on country model of care
  • A Professional Development (PD) Budget
  • Admin team to support you, allowing you to focus on your work
  • Relocation allowance will be considered
