Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse with Mental Health experience looking for short-term opportunities to make a meaningful impact? We are seeking passionate and experienced Grade 5 and 6 Registered Nurses (Mental Health) for short-term locum contracts in the vibrant regions of Central Queensland.
Contract Locations:
Working as a locum Registered Nurse in Central Queensland is a truly rewarding experience that goes beyond the everyday. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centred mental health care to individuals and families in both acute and community settings.
- Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions for a diverse range of mental health conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Support and mentor junior nursing staff, contributing to their professional development.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
Mandatory Experience:
- Mental health case management experience.
- Competent in completing an ECG.
Desirable Experience:
- AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) case management experience.
- Knowledge of CIMHA (Consumer Integrated Mental Health Application) database.
- Knowledge of ATODS-IS (Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs Information System) database.
- Knowledge of ieMR (integrated electronic Medical Record) and proficiency in using this system.
- Previous experience working in Australia, particularly with Queensland Health and/or Mackay HHS.
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2016.
- Experience working with children and adolescents.
Essential Criteria:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with a specialization in Mental Health.
- Proven experience working in mental health nursing, at Grades 5 or 6 level.
- Strong clinical skills, with the ability to manage complex cases independently.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with a commitment to providing compassionate and respectful care.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to a positive work environment
