Locum Registered Nurse (Grade 5) Emergency Department 
 
Location: Rockhampton | Mackay | Gladstone
 
*Pay Rates: The base rates of $68 – $78 per hour are based on AM rates, with shift rates additional. Please note: The hourly rate is dependent on the nurse’s years of experience and the geographical location of the contract, with remote locations offering a higher rate compared to regional and rural contracts. Rates can be discussed in further detail at the time of initial screening.

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 + years’ Emergency Department experience? Interested in a Locum role in Regional Queensland?
 
A little about the role:

We are seeking experienced and dedicated Registered Nurses (Grade 5) for locum roles in a Regional Queensland across multiple Emergency Departments. This is an exciting opportunity to join fast paced and supportive teams, delivering high-quality emergency care to regional, rural, and remote communities.

 
Mandatory Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department experience.

Desirable Experience:

  • Knowledge and proficiency in using the integrated electronic Medical Record (ieMR) system.
  • Previous experience working within Australia, particularly with Queensland Health

Mandatory Competencies:

  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
  • Resuscitation certification
  • Triage certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) competency
  • Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK)
  • Manual and patient handling
  • Infection control
  • Aggressive behaviour management
  • Mandatory reporting by Registered Nurses and/or Midwives for reasonable suspicions of child abuse and neglect
  • Medications management including compliance with QPHS (Drugs and Poisons) Regulations November 2012

Additional Requirements:
 
Candidates must agree to undertake the following as required:

  • Integrated electronic medical record (ieMR) training
  • Online induction training
  • Any other training as requested
