All about the role
The locum cardiac sonographer role involves conducting inpatient and outpatient echocardiograms in Bathurst and occasionally in Orange, with an expected workload of 8-10 scans per day. This position arises due to the upcoming maternity leaves of three sonographers, and it offers a structured schedule from Monday to Friday, with no weekends or on-call duties. The sonographer will work alongside a cardiologist and support staff, although they may operate independently at times. The role requires proficiency in echocardiography, including stress echoes and TOE procedures. The facility provides travel support and accommodation options, with competitive pay rates.

All about the duties will I perform?
- Conduct inpatient and outpatient echocardiograms (8-10 scans per day).
- Perform stress echocardiograms and transesophageal echocardiograms (TOE).
- Collaborate with a cardiologist and support staff while also working independently.
- Travel between Bathurst and Orange, spending one day per week in Orange.
- Utilise GE Vivid S60N machines
- Adhere to a Monday to Friday schedule with no weekends or on-call responsibilities.
- Work to all procedures, policies and protocols within the department.
Note that there will be some NSW Health credentialing required, and our team will be on hand to assist with this.
The skills and experience I need for this job
- Proven experience in performing echocardiograms, including stress echoes and TOE.
- Proficiency in using echocardiography machines, preferably GE Vivid S60N.
- Familiarity with reporting software such as IntelliSpace and Health Track.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with medical staff and patients.
- Flexibility to travel between Bathurst and Orange.
