Location: Based in Cairns, QLD – with travel to communities in Cape York.
Salary: $82 – $87 per hour plus super. Travel provided, accom negotiable dependent on situation.
We are seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the outreach team. Work with members of communities in the beautiful Cape York region, FNQ. Locum will start in January or February and be until 30/6/25, with possibility of extension (optional).
The allied health team travel to different communities in the cape each week. You will travel with at least one other member of the allied health team and be housed in accommodation together (donga style, with a shared kitchen area).

A little about the role:
You will treat children in the communities that you visit. You will report directly to the AH manager. As this is a senior role you will need to be confident to any patients that are presented to you in a culturally appropriate way. The allied health team travel to different communities in the cape each week. You will travel with at least one other member of the allied health team and be housed in accommodation together (donga style, with a shared kitchen area). You will also do some cultural awareness training, as it is critical to the success of the service. When ready your travel week will be Tuesday – Thursday having Monday and Friday (finish early with TOIL) in the Cairns office. When travelling you will be with other members of the Allied Health team and be accommodated close to each other.
Skills and Experience:
- AHPRA registered AH professional
- Relevantly experienced to undertake a Senior role
- Ability to develop strategy and lead the team to drive best outcome results
- Open to travelling to all communities in the region
